Tree with Red Blooms

I've seen this tree throughout LA.  I love the red.

Visit to Huntington Gardens...

Unfortunately, no one knew the name of this one but it's stunning and it's a must-have!

This sweet yellow ball plant was on display in the education center. 

Love this!  Altho it's weed-ish, I think it's very beautiful!

Cycad from Descanso,  Two of these plants could look good and act as features through french doors in back of house.

Pretty purple blooming flower/weed

Love this tree.

This tree we saw in Paso Robles was interesting.  The photo (above) depicts its unusually thick bark.

This is probably a weed but I think it's pretty and it grows very high and thick.  Could be a good screen?

I see this yellow/orange blooming tree all over LA.  I love the color.

Plants, Trees & Seating

Love the juniper? tree surrounded by rock (although not keen on all white rock).

Greg liked the dry creek on the garden tour - at the house Eric was at.

 

Like the irregularity of these stepping stones.

Love the size of these rocks.

Really like this grass in between the stones.  (Saw this on the garden tour at the house Eric was at.)

Although we are undecided on a fire element, this one is very nice.  Like that it's compact and not too high.

 The stone wall in back of the chairs may be another solution for seating instead of the stone bench.

This is the bench at The Descanso that we love!

Also at Descanso - this is the area in front of the bench.  Like it altho not sure if it's a good choice for our root problem!

This is a step up at The Gamble house we thought was pretty. 

These two photos were taken in Paso Robles at a vineyard.  We loved the dry-stacked rock, as well as the curvy layout.
